The average cost to replace a roof can vary from home to home. The average cost to replace a roof in South Texas is between $4500 and $16,000. Most roofing companies will charge anywhere between $3.50 to $6.00 per square foot. The cost varies depending on these factors of your roof: square footage, materials installed, elevations and steepness of the home.

Another big factor of the price of your roof will be which roofing expert to hire. Make sure to ask your roofing expert for certificates of insurance and warranty details. Choosing a lower cost and a lower quality roofer usually results in needing your roof repaired sooner  and no warranties.

There isn’t a one size fits all answer to this question. The average project time can range from one day to two weeks. There are many factors that go into determining how long a roof replacement will take.

If I’m having my insurance company replace my roof, do I have to pay my deductible?

Yes, Texas state law requires that all homeowners pay their deductible. Failure to do so puts you at risk for insurance fraud. While waiving the deductible sounds like the roofer is doing you a favor, they are actually doing the exact opposite.

If your roofing contractor is waiving your deductible here’s probably what’s going to happen.

The contractor is  using cheap unskilled labor, using cheap materials, not pulling a permit, cutting corners by leaving the old hardware and underlayment, and probably is not insured.

The old saying is still true today “You get what you pay for”. Make sure that you are hiring a qualified roofing installer who is insured and can provide you with the best warranty possible.
